Please note that your car booking is accepted by car group and not by car make / model.

Included in our price is the following:

*Excess amount on car groups: B, C €300 | C1, D €400 | D1, E1 €500 | H, H1 €800 | J, J1 €1000

** In order to protect your car hire with a complete ZERO Excess and Zero Deposit, you will need to select both WUG and SCDW Insurances.

GEM Car Rentals must be notified immediately on the emergency number provided should there be any damage to the vehicle.  Under no circumstances should the vehicle be moved unless instructed by a police officer.  Should you move the vehicle the insurance will become invalid and the renter is liable for all costs.
Should another vehicle be involved, the local traffic police must be notified before either vehicle is moved.

Customers will be asked to supply a major credit card for a deposit to be held in the event of fuel shortages/damage/traffic violations.
Accepted cards: American Express, MasterCard, Visa.

Drivers must produce a full valid driving license for their country of residence, held for at least three years.

Should this information not be available at the time of booking please be sure to advise GEM Car Rentals at least 3 days prior to departure.  Although GEM Car Rentals will do its utmost to ensure a car is available we take no responsibility, nor will compensation be offered for a failed rental due to the customer providing incorrect or no information.

GEM Car Rentals operates a ‘fair fuel’ policy. Fuel level will be half on pick-up and noted on agreement and the car can be returned with empty fuel, there will be a charge according to the current petrol rates.

These rates do not provide coverage for extra costs incurred by the customer for expenses such as parking. Should the driver of the vehicle commit any offence whilst driving the hire vehicle, any fines or legal charges thereof will be the sole responsibility of the driver.  GEM Car Rentals accepts no responsibility for any violations committed during the hire of the vehicle.

Rental charges minus any deposit paid during booking are payable locally on delivery of vehicle to the representative by cash or credit card. Personal cheques are not accepted. A valid credit card (American Express, MasterCard, Visa) must be presented irrespective of payment method.

GEM Car Rentals can refuse to supply a vehicle should they in their reasonable opinion deem the driver to be in anyway unfit to drive the vehicle ie being intoxicated/abusive. In this case your contract will be terminated immediately and no further compensation or refund given.

All cancellations must be transmitted to GEM Car Rentals prior to the commencement of the rental. In the event that a reservation has not been cancelled in advance or if a customer fails to collect a vehicle or if a vehicle is returned early, there will be no refunds for any unused rental days and the voucher will be invoiced for the full rental value as booked. Please note that any deposit paid is non-refundable.

A rental day is based on a 24 hour period. If your vehicle is returned 60 minutes or over as per your agreement a full days rental charge will be incurred.

GEM Car Rentals will not be held responsible for anyone driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs, causing willful damage, off road driving or driving without due care and attention or damages caused by negligence. The client will accept direct responsibility in respect of such claims.

Customers may upgrade to another class of vehicle locally upon arrival. Upgrades are subject to availability and fees for upgrades will be determined locally at time of rental. Customers must pay all fees for upgrade locally and local Tour Representatives shall not discourage customers from upgrading.

NORTHERN CYPRUS (Turkish Occupied Area)
Please note that the insurance does NOT cover our vehicle if you drive it across the border.  Insurance can be purchased at the crossing however we advise strongly against taking our vehicle across the border.  Should you be involved in any traffic incident or breakdown it will be your responsibility to return the car.
